A Modern Samsonette

If you but knew the secret lies Within my lovely hair You’d wish to get your fingers there For then my soul I’ll bare I am a modern Samsonette The power's yours to seek For playing with my lovely locks Will make me go all weak Chorus: Put fingers through my lovely hair Caress each shining tress Put fingers through my lovely hair And then take off my dress I can’t explain the magic there When fingers start to tease A yielding wish comes over me I sigh and long to please My hair is a raven mane It is my crowning joy But when it’s gently played with I simply melt for that boy Chorus: Put fingers through my lovely hair Caress each shining tress Put fingers through my lovely hair And then take off my dress Tis true and now the secret’s out You know how to ravish me Run fingers through my flowing hair Watch inhibitions flee. Chorus: Put fingers through my lovely hair Caress each shining tress Put fingers through my lovely hair And then take off my dress Eileen Manassian

A lovely lyrical quatrain, Eileen. I think many will be tempted to take you up on that enticing chorus:) [had hair to boast of once, but now my granddaughter teasingly calls me 'baldylocks'!!] // paul

You think? "I'm sure"... would have been lovelier to read, Paul. Thanks for reading and posting. Sweet of you. Baldylocks are attractive in their own way!

I do believe the crown of a woman is her hair....... I can see from your photos, you are blessed, as am I, with thick brunette locks... This lovely poem, should be sung with the music of a lute... I can almost hear it in my head ! :)

You are sweet, Carrie, to have read and commented on this silly piece of mine! ;) I'm a little vain about my hair...Ah....to explain all the reasons why, though I've given you a clue in my post to you. I'm glad to know that you have lovely brunette locks as well! Oh...coconut shampoo and conditioner are such a treat!!! ;)

:) Thanks Dr Upma...My mother's name was ANGEL. She was an angel to me. Always believed in me. She taught English and was in love with the classics. She passed on that love to me. I'm eternally grateful. Hugs

HEy there Samsonette! Never heard that one! Cool. This reminds me of my favorite movie called "OF MICE AND MEN"-Lenny runs his fingers though Curly's wife's black silk hair, and gets a little carried away, she starts screaming, and he ends up squeezing her to death. Poor big dude "Didn't mean no Harm". You've seen that movie or read the book. John Steinbeck thx for the explanation. I have trouble w/ poetry most times. I didn't even know I used crumbs bc I don't read my own poems. I just can't.

Thanks for the post, JS. I haven't read of Mice and Men. Should do so sometime. Not the ending I like! ;)

Okay sweetheart, I am thinking seriously of a new line of work...cosmetology. I have always been a pushover. The longer, the silkier, the better. (I love it when people share their secrets, lol. ;)

That is cute. Well my wife IS a cosmetologist and she is older than I (not at liberty to say how much) and she has almost no grey hair at all, and does nothing to stop it! (I think she has a picture in the attic, Re: Dorian Gray). PS-I would not have believed you had a 19 year old. JMO ;)

JR...never too late to try a new profession, my dear. I doubt that all women react as I do, though. ;) Thank you for the post. I am often complimented on my hair....My 19 year old has glorious black hair down to her waist....natural ringlets. SHE compliments ME on my hair... :) She recently tag me on a post of a little baby who was the picture of pure bliss...The caption...You when someone play with your hair!
