A Military Sunrise

The dark blanket begins to retreat, As the morning star pushes it away. The pink horizon is alive. The energy dances in the sky. It’s a new day. The green carpet sparkles in the twilight, As the dew drops capture each ray. The magic comes through. The birds begin to sing. It’s a new day. The morning star begins its climb, As the sleeping creatures awake. The warmth fills each crack. A baby cries. It’s a new day. The flower buds open in the light, As a spider finishes weaving its web. A bomb in heard in the distance. I grab my gun. It’s a new day.
