A Mere Humanoid

I thought I was a rock Not vulnerable but strong Overcoming any block It's a pity I was wrong I thought I was a bird Always flying free But now that sounds absurd With all that I can see I thought I was a mountain Always standing tall But it's impossible when someone's shouting You're ever so tiny and small I thought I was a tree Feet planted on the ground It was only what I wanted to be Due to the chaos all around But I am a mere humanoid Vulnerable and weak Trapped inside the endless void Of never finding what I seek
