A Man of Respect

In the embrace of memories past, Where time's whispers gently cast, There lies a man, strong and kind, My father-in-law, forever in my mind. Two years have passed since he took flight, Yet his presence lingers, shining bright, A beacon of love, a guiding hand, A cherished bond I will always understand. He stood tall with wisdom's grace, Lines etched upon his weathered face, A life well-lived, a story told, Lessons learned in days of old. In his eyes, a spark of joy, A heart that cared for everyone, in his own way His laughter echoed through the air, A symphony of warmth and flair. A steadfast pillar by our side, He saw our worth, he saw our soul, And in our hearts, he found a home. His words, Comforting us in moments of qualm, His presence, we miss daily Filling your world with boundless grace. Though he's gone, his spirit lives on, In every sunset, every dawn, In cherished moments, shared and treasured, His love, a flame that can't be measured. So let our tears be touched with light, For he still walks with us, day and night, A guardian angel, forever near, Whispering love, casting out fear. In our heart, his memory will remain, A tapestry of love, free from stain, And as we walk life's winding road, Know he's watching over us, with love bestowed. For my father-in-law, now at rest, His legacy, is all we will remember and all that will remain A life well-loved, a bond that will forever be remembered as strong!!

The dutiful in-law who knew his place. To write poetry is like giving a head stone it gives honor and praise. But also points to the example to follow.
