A Man
A man may see with his eyes
yet in reality see nothing at all.
A man may look you in the face
Smiling as he does nothing but deceive you.
His heart may perish
But his will cannot be conquered.
He can sing you a beautiful ballad
Then turn around and break your heart.
His imperfections are limitless
And his heart doesn't resound with clarity.
But he has passion deep within
With the mind to protect all he holds dear.
A man may stare into your eyes
Seeking to divulge your deepest sanctuary.
A man may seem unfair and filthy
Yet has the power to dazzle you with a smile.
A man may possess a broken heart
Though his unwilling eyes will never reveal him.
A man is riddled with strife and fault
But a man is caring, gentle, and so very wise.
Remember that man
When you take a look at me.
