A Look At Nothing
I took a long, hard look
at nothing;
dust swirls and dizzies
around me;
patches of parched grass
at my feet;
scorching, cruel glare of
noonday sun;
the highway melts, flows
and meanders
up into the glazed skyline,
into space;
watery mirage blurring
watery eyes,
still taking a long, hard
look at nothing!
