it has been a long journey for me
this journey we call life
with many twists and turns
curves and dips . . .
this puzzle not yet complete
because of one missing piece
each day I begin with a prayer
will turn back the pages of time and sorrow
no rock will be left unturned . . .
so young and lost
wanting only to be loved
and love is what I found one night . . .
my family sent me away in shame
with no one to protect me or comfort me
and when you were born
I held you close to my heart
and I knew the true meaning of love
realizing their mistake
the nurses pulled you from my arms . . .
I dream of what could have been for us
we could have made it in this world
could have been so happy
just you and me together
why would no one give us a chance . . .
have spent my life searching for you
dreaming an impossible dream
praying to find you somehow or somewhere
to look into your face again
my heart aches each day from searching
and not finding . . . .
then . . .
by accident I found the answer
why I could never find you
you lay buried at the family tomb
all these years a secret . . .
why could my parents not tell me
why did they let me search the world
I will never get an answer for they lay buried too . . .
had your name engraved on the headstone
and I go there often to visit you
found this special love again for a second time
there is no greater love- than a mother and child
and when my earthly life ends
in heaven . . I will hold you once again
my son
