A Little Gift From God
As the first hint of the sun rising from the east,
begins to tickle the window pane,
you rise from the edge of a very pleasant dream,
while still lying in your bed.
Your head resting on a fluffy pillow,
and covered with a warm blanket.
The dream was of a happy time
when treasured family,
and friends were still alive.
You were all young and healthy ,
and all together again.
Laughing and loving
as if life would never end.
You try so hard to fight your eyelids,
not wanting to let go of this very special dream.
But you must rise from your bed
to cope with what the day has in store
whether it be filled with joy, or pain.
You will make new memories
that may, or may not show up
in another dream at another time,
for that is the way of dreams.
This dream may be gone,
but the warmth it will be left behind,
and remain with you throughout the day,
like a little gift from God.
