A Letter To Santa

From my lips to Santa’s ear, I sure hope he can hear. My silent plea for intercession, I don’t ask for any beloved possession. I ask for the broken to be mended. The pain and sadness to be ended. I ask that he repair the rifts, instead of salving then with expensive gifts. I ask that he teach us the meaning of giving and receiving. I ask that he restore our hope and help us with believing. I long to see the sparkle return to my beloved’s eyes. I long to stifle our plaintive cries. I long to stop the seemingly endless worry And replace his sadness with fervent joy. I long for Love in wedded bliss I long for his happiness. I am searching for answers that won’t be found under a tree. From my lips to Santa’s ear, please give us calmness in bleak insanity.
