A Letter To Mothers

Dear Mom, we thought about giving you the traditional gifts of cards, flowers & chocolate on this mother's day. We then remembered Proverbs 18:4 which says "A person's words can be life-giving water" & we know that our words will resonate in your heart, mind & spirit longer than those chocolates will stay on your hips. So this year we're writing you a letter of thanks & gratitude for all the things you done for us, your sons & daughters Thank you Mom for giving us life & enduring those painful hours of childbirth to bring us into this world & thank you for fostering us & adopting us into your life Thank you for those 3 am feedings & diaper changings when you were exhausted & sleep deprived. And we apologize for those times we got you in the face with a little urine. Thank you Mama for teaching us to read & to count & our nightly rituals of a bath & a bedtime story. Thank you for taking us to kindergarten on our 1st day of school. We think you cried more than we did. Thank you Mother for all the words of wisdom you've given us over the years even thought we didn't want to hear them at the time, yet we've never forgotten them. Thank you for sacrificing to buy us those sneakers we desperately wanted & you didn't pay the phone bill that month just to make us happy. Thank you Ma for celebrating our achievements & accomplishments & for encouraging us never to give up those times we didn't make the grade or the team. Thank you for being the cook, the maid, the butler, the events planner & the chauffer & for taking care of our home & our pets. Thank you Mommy for being there to console us when the boy we liked didn't ask us to go to the big dance or when the girl we asked out turned us down . You then commiserated with us over ice cream or our favorite cookies & told us this too will pass & it will be alright. Thank you Mother Dearest for all those spankings which we don't believe we deserved. But they did teach us life lessons. Thank you for educating us on how to be better, to do better, to be kind & compassionate just like Jesus instructed us to do. Thank you Mommy for praying for us, praying over us & praying with us. Thank you for being an awesome woman of God. I hope when we have children we will do as great a job in raising them as you did us. Thank you for being our Mom. From the depths of our hearts & the bottom of our souls we love & adore you. Sincerely & respectfully Your Sons & Daughters
