A Kiss

I could kiss you like I used to But it wouldn't be the same These lips wear too many battles A teasing tongue can't win the game. You could kiss me like you used to But it wouldn't taste as sweet The years have beaten the ego An empty soulless treat. Still we insist on existing And playing out this game Not dead but very nearly A fruitless, heartless shame. I could kiss you like I used to But it wouldn't be the same Your lips are like a stranger The taste is all that remains.
