A Jeweled Box of Sorrows
Deep within the bowels of the soul
Is a jeweled box of sorrows timelessly old
Disguised by its jeweled beauty few look inside
Leaving tainted roots to fester as seeds coincide
Silence provokes an introspection of one’s life
The core of traumatic events rise through strife
Resentment stands like a giant among the weeds
Jealousy pokes at the heart while standing as reeds
Look closely as the box begins to open and reveal
Bearing the reflection of attitudes quietly sealed
Face these roots without fear taking a hard look
Kick them to the curb see what the enemy has took
One may be able to fool those who are near
Eventually they slip and a heart they will sear
Guard the seat of the soul from those who profess
Their steps are made of love yet their actions confess
Caught up in flattery when adored are at their best
Humility is the fruited movement in a flowing river crest
Take time to look inward with an honest heart
Never placing all your apples before Gods fruited cart
