A Hollow Promise the Fire
A few days ago my memories, my sentimental belongings were gone in
a matter of minutes
Kissed by the ravages of the scorching heat, agony for release all to no avail
my heart and emotions bewail
So tortuous the feelings inside reeling from the knowledge that they could never
be repurchased, refurbished, or restored
The fingers of heat reached out and touched and held on for dear life
let me go you so and so
I'm going to be missed more than you know
I have no care and I do dare to hold you tighter than your most true love
You are such a beast that gives no release, you take and you take and you
destroy everything in your path
You look around and then you laugh
Everything that you come into contact with is damaged, and destroyed there
is no reward
Looking searching, searching trying to hide, you bring me out of my hiding place
You smoke into my face and the dance begins again
Nothing is left after you have taken what you have come for, nevermore
Just so that you know that you will be sorely missed, un-loved and not dismissed
I think nothing of your empty caress, no need to guess, not to digress
Now I shake my head in sorrow, hoping for tomorrow, new thoughts I need
to borrow, I try not to wallow, as I bow to your high-ness, as I have been
dismissed from your hollow promise
