A Happy Ending
And so another saga begins
in a loving, aging extended family.
We are all victims of cancer's proclivity.
How could we have the temerity to
assume otherwise and miss the nuance
that is her speciality?
Soon the marrow will have an aperture
that will attest to blood results.
A prelude to treatment.
A treatment that leaves it's latest victim
and us barren of joy and happiness.
Our lives on hold again.
Yet, just as one has survived,
we pray so will the other.
A happy ending.
