A Greater Show
Cascading baubles, from a breeching whale;
how they sparkle,
like diamond rain upon the sea.
I watch their ballet in awe;
breathless at their performance;
they do dance well, the whales.
Their generous performance,
a delightful display in a silvery sea;
the stage lighted by Old Sol,
against a backdrop of painted sky;
draws angelic applause.
Often taken for granted;
Mother Nature’s opera house,
never closes its doors to any guest.
The greatest show of all, is free.
