A Goodbye Kiss

Amber streaks brush across the horizon holding still a little part of me in a perfect memory a crisp morning breeze caressing weathered lips begging for one more goodbye kiss behind closed lids I can clearly see those honey dipped eyes staring right back at me at the man you hoped I'd be begging for one more goodbye kiss you fighting your way back to hold the secrets keeping these cobblestones in place time slowly takes it toll as autumn rolls into town the daylight wanes along with the excitement hanging on along with the yellow painted leaves waiting for one final caressing breeze one last chance to see and one long lasting goodbye kiss

This is wonderful in its melancholic feel, why is there always a last goodbye kiss, doesn't anybody stay together anymore? Sounds like a good song title, I think I'll use it. lol Great write as always Tim.

Really love this poem. It speaks to me somewhat differently then the comments I read. I see a comparison between the goodbye kiss of a season leaving and people who part. A big fav!

Very tender yet melancholy poem, Tim. You really know how to pen stroke the images. Very evocative on a visceral level. Beautifully done, my friend ... a crisp morning breeze caressing weathered lips ... is an outstanding line of prose. This a fave of mine. Love always. RW

Beautifully forlorn, we always remember those goodbye kisses as painful reminisces.

Soft and subtle and a touch of sadness, which I always believe lingers after a good bye kiss. Beautifully done Tim
