A Glimpse of Your Heart
I recall the first time I met you,
a chance encounter many years past.
For when you smiled, I felt elated,
but didn't think that feeling would last.
Your persistence overrode my doubts,
as you held me in your warm embrace.
And our hearts and souls morphed into one
within the fabric of time and space.
Offering me a glimpse of your heart,
you showed me the beauty of your soul.
And for the very first time, I felt
significant and completely whole.
We cherished each other as a gift,
exploring the emotions of youth.
And fusing futures, our souls conjoined,
a union established in truth.
The bond we share is remarkable,
and it has been from the very start.
For, with but a prayer and a hope,
we garnered strength from the other's heart.
