A Fragile Thing
A mighty thing she is, this earth of ours,
beneath her guiding moon and map of stars,
held close and ruled by our life-giving sun.
Tho forming still, with moving plates and scars,
her place in the vast cosmos, she has won.
And yet our earth is quite a fragile thing
that dangles on the sun's magnetic ring
much like an antique ball on Christmas tree,
where sudden movement could a fracture bring.
Which fault line changes our earth's history?
