A Forgiving Christmas
Christmas day is on the way
Presents are neatly wrapped
Those Christmas cards dispatched
Roll on Christmas day, I say
I doubt that present so neatly wrapped
Contains what I desire
As I don’t know how you wrap
Love and forgiving
Or if you Can bottle a fallen tear
Caused by the words I said last year
I would like to wrap a hug for you
And find enclosed a great big kiss
If only you would forgive
My crimes from the previous year
This Christmas would be the best
And it would make for a great new year
