A Flower

a flower I am not a contest I do not enter I am a free spirit to share the world of knowledge and a life for a moment the wrench of eyes dropping tears a nose to smell the wonder of bloom as the tree soon to convey the memories of linden and teas I walk the streets the white narcissus of my teens past will bring me to a field long gone in the mountains of Andorra an edelweiss to mix with your champagne a flower wall I do not dance to your rhythms but my own a voice to tell nothing but ears listening to operas my heart is full the dandelion a miracle of generosity as the forager need to eat with the season.

"a miracle of generosity" grabbed me. While most nature poets celebrate becoming one with the object of their contemplation, you remain sentient and solitary, as any good poet must.

You sure have a lot of responses from poets all over the place. What beach is the picture you are using on with other people looking around. I used live in Redmond, WA. Is that on either Washington or California coast? Jim Horn

You dance to your own rhythms, Catherine, and you indeed are a free spirit! I liked this poem you have penned and gave it a 7 rating. You mentioned the dandelion. When you have time, I hope you will check out my poem, "A Rainbow Sparkles" where I speak about seeing the dandelions. Blessings, Darlene
