A Dream of Innocent Love

(for: the poetess with the golden pen) So child-like, so soothing, Dreamy eyes shyly speaking Of warmth & gifts & praise, Like a sweet & lovely prince! On the fertile soil of his heart, Shoots young affection: sweet, Pure, calm, gentle as dove – How alive & innocent is his love! Then, set those eyes upon Nature; In her truth & love make adventure, Rising above sorrow & falsehood Across the stormy sea of this world; In this, shalt thou bloom, & be happy in thine dream Of progress: calm & sweet, Of innocence in thine heart!

Poets tend to view the world in many different ways. This lady with the golden pen has an innocence we can all envy. How wonderful it would be to feel like a child again! Great work, Canny! Love, Carolyn
