A Dream of Hope
On the other side of crossing there was music in the air;
And the greeters asked of all of us are there any here who’ll share?
So I step up to the microphone and reached for my guitar;
I sang of futile times I spent reaching for the stars;
It seemed this wasn’t paradise but we knew it wasn’t hell,
But to everyone it felt so nice that we had to know it well.
Up there from the balcony joy was drifting through the room;
With messages to keep the faith for rest was coming soon.
Hovered all around us tiny bubbles floated by;
And as they burst upon us was heard the warmest sigh.
Those of us who’d traveled concluded there and then;
That of all the worried times we had in the end persistence wins
