A Diamond In the Sky

It is the cold of winter blue Ice wraps the edges of the night A crown of stars bedecks the sky Like twinkling diamonds bright Morning breaks with slow footsteps Still the heavens shine with light But soon they fade into the day A diamond's remnants now out of sight.....

Reads like a winner to me..Way to go for the contest..Thanks for the visit to my page..Yes, the Red Male Cardinal is a very magnificent bird and the female is more dull but she is a beauty as well..I say some Blue Jays this morning out in the front and their color was so nice on such a cloudy dreary day..One did come around to the feeder which is very unusual..Sara

Very nicely done, as I gauge its brevity compared with its massive content. Excellent. Best to you for the contest.
