A Desired Togetherness

Mom's deep sanctity contrasted with daddy's shameless immorality. Four beautiful girls, one handsome boy could have made a great family. Mom was a lovely and religious woman who taught us to love God. Dad was unkind to her, and for our sake she remained in a sad marriage. The lust he had for his mistress took him away from his five children. What we all needed was a desired togetherness, that strong bond of trust. Growing up was hard with the absence of his love, we felt so deprived. More than my sisters, his denial of affection effected my outlook. I lacked confidence, the support other boys had, I felt so unwanted. I missed his warm hugs, his laughter in my birthdays... the pride in his son.
