A Dear Dear Friend

Was really disappointed today Was supposed to meet a dear dear friend Things got in the way and sadly Had to postpone our meeting again I'm adopting her as my daughter An honour that I accept with pride Sadly her relationship with her real dad Was very much on the rocky side So I'm the fortunate benefactor Of a soul that's longing this connection I'm truly only too happy to oblige As I shower her with affection A sweetie this dear dear friend of mine My undying love runs deep Adore this girl more than words can say With tears of joy, I weep She's happily married with kids of her own But there's been a void in her life So honoured to be her replacement dad Sure didn't have to think twice © Jack Ellison 2013

You and Cathie have a heart of gold!... We adopted one of our sons for the same reason... We can't officially adopt him, of course. He has a family... but he lives with us... and we helped him get a car, and other things to help set him up in life... A teacher helped him get a scholarship at the Community College. His own family abused him and kicked him out... He's a great guy, and deserves a chance... Dragon adores him and Joey. If more people helped others, This world would be a better World!

This adoption I speak of, of course, is not possible though I would be over the moon if I could! However I DO have one adopted daughter and one adopted son! Merry Christmas my friend!

That is so very sweet my friend, it's awesome that you are willing to 'adopt' your friend as your daughter! If I remember correctly you don't have a daughter so this will be a special event! It is something precious to have a daughter, they are they greatest joy any father could ever hope for! I really loved reading this illustrious write my friend! You probably have talked about your daughter but I wasn't paying enough attention, sorry about that my friend! but I do care my friend, so you do know the joys of raising a daughter don't you? I DO have a daughter... she's adopted! She was 18 months old when we got her... now 49! Actually, this young lady I write about is married with children so I think her husband and kids MIGHT have something to say about it! LOL LOL!
