A Dead End
A Dead End
Is there a moment in life
When long lived,
Or so it may seem,
That raises the question
Where next?
If jumbled memories fill the day
Whilst the night-time keeps it's own company,
Where is the path that you are looking for?
Winding roads trodden in hope
Suddenly come to a halt
Leaving a wall of feelings
Thoughts and regrets
That you must now scale
To somehow find that goal.
Past failures sit on shoulders
Stooped and shrinking,
No longer strong enough to carry
Forgotten dreams.
The days move slowly
Trance like
For that dream is stuck fast in time
Leaving what?
A dead end?
