A Dark Joy
I see the glistening webs
that holds all together
till the last hour of darkness
I commune in silence
sleep being a stranger
I donned a gown,
I am a night walker
the velvet dark
calls to me
the wet grass
squelches between
my toes
the indigo sky
covers my wonder
I am home
shooting stars
and satellites pass
the stars begin
their dim and
a lone silhouette
moves in the
almost light
in the shadows
I bless the travellers
journey, wondering
who, where, why
knowing I will
never know
as the first ray of light
glances off the
morning dew
my first sound
in hours, is a gasp
of wonderment
again,
I can see the glistening
webs that hold all together
and my joy and peace
entwine around my heart
