A Child's Innocence
When mommy and daddy fight,
I hold my teddy very tight.
If I let go, he might cry,
so I sing him a little lullaby.
We hide in my room on my bed
with a blanket over our head.
I don't mean to be so bad.
I always seem to make them mad.
I don't want my daddy to leave.
I'll make a wish, I do believe.
The house is quiet; the monsters have fled.
Daddy has come to put me to bed.
Now I lay me down to sleep.
I pray the Lord my soul to keep...
Jesus, help me to stay good
like mommy and daddy's 'big girl' should.
God bless daddy and mommy too.
Help them to love everyone like You.
Was daddy crying when he said, "Goodnight"?
I hope everything will be alright.
