A Butterfly

Behind the leaves, I saw a butterfly As it gently squeezed out from its cocoon; It tried to move slowly but surely As it went out from its isolated home. Below the cone, its head came out, It looked around among the green leaves; It squeezed again until it came out, It flapped its wings as it prepared to leave. At the back of its wings, I saw different colors There were green and yellow; brown, red and blue; With soft as cotton, flat wings it started to fly Above the trees on high, Or down to the grass below.

Thank you for the warm.welcome! I am well pleased with your appreciation of my poem. About my writing skill, I considered this as a special gift from above because if I try to write by my own desire, it's really hard for me to do so. And besides, I am a Filipino and using foreign language like english is not easy. I am sure that my writings has a lot of grammatical errors but the only thing that gives me courage to show my piece to the public is because I wrote them through the words expressed from my heart.

Bernabe, Welcome to Poetry soup, I hope you enjoy the community. Here, you will find friendly poets who enjoy supporting one another. I myself, enjoy reading and commenting those who want to be read. The only time I give constructive criticism is when a poet desires it. However, if for some reason the poem is not my field I will guide you to someone who is more qualified than I. Stop by and read one of my poems if you like. My poems are not perfect, but I have a feeling you might like one. I encourage you to check out the contest page and read to receive comments. Tell me a little about your poetic skills if you like. It will be my pleasure to follow and read every poem you post from here on :) We are Lucky To Have you. Your New Poet Friend @-> LINDA <-@
