A Boat
If I had a boat
I know just where I'd go
I'd leave the Autumn leaves
To decay beneath the snow
If I had a boat
Oh the journey I'd bestow
I'd hear the crashing in the breeze
Of the waves white-tipped with foam
If I had a boat
No one could tell me no
I'd journey where I please
No longer suffer in the cold
If I had a boat
It wouldn't matter what they know
I could get up off my knees
I'd pass them by if I chose
If I had a boat
I'd set sail and be a ghost
So surely I would leave
And in my place found just this note
If I had a boat.
