A Bittersweet Love

The very last line was my daughters idea. You are my sweet and sour treat Always being bittersweet With your love, I never know What part of your heart will show Kind and gentle, full of care Showing emotions everywhere Holding my hand soft and tender Allowing both our souls to render Into one, never apart My mind thinks of you a lot But there is a piece of you Which I'm really not into It makes me feel so useless You back away from my caress Turning away and start to cringe Becoming distant and unhinged From the offer of my love Which always comes to push and shove Pushing you to tell me why Your actions make my heart die You push back with closing down You walk away, I turn around And shove you back into the room Allowing all the stormy gloom To escape, there is no harm When you shove me in your arms Kissing me so warm and sweet Actions we always repeat Over and over again I'm hoping that in the end All this push and shove Will lead to a stronger love That is no longer bitter But sweeter than a corn fritter
