Melting Flesh

Spirit, spirit that gave me life. Why did you leave without speaking? Not enquiring with me? Or let us reach an understanding.  When your time came, You left quietly. You left your precious abode void and lifeless. Abandoning it where you chose Did you not hear me say, 'I want to live forever,' or when I prayed, 'I'd rather go like Elijah?' Oh spirit, spirit that gave me life. I ought to have appreciated life more. Then think about those who left scars. Failing to truly love those who did not. I should have counted my every breath. Behind the grave, how can I express my gratitude?
