Echoes of Sorrow mourning the Loss of Innocence

It grieves me to witness our youth's demise, Each day, each hour, another life unties. Daughters, sons, announced dead, bereft, In a world where cruelty has left. What have we done to merit such woe, To meet our end in a violent flow? We've become beasts, monsters in disguise, Lost in our deeds, devoid of wise. Do we not possess a shred of conscience, To heed the cries, to cease the violence? I can't fathom a parent's pain, Burying their child, guilt their chain. Blame weighs heavy on their hearts each day, Feeling they've failed, lost their way. What have we become, what's our fate, To suffer such cruel, relentless hate? God, hear our plea, our broken souls, As we navigate life's treacherous shoals. We plan our lives, yet others plot, To rob us of all we've sought. Rape, murder, each day's grim news, Lives taken, souls bruised. Enemies within, fear our guide, As death's shadow looms, nowhere to hide. Haven't we borne enough, shed enough tears, In this cruel world, fueled by fears? What cruel fate do we now endure, In this world where suffering is sure?
