9 Eleven
As I’m thinking back
To that day I remember
Over three thousand lives
We lost in September...
The images captured
Still stuck in my mind
And it brought us together
So we all could find...
Some common ground
On which we could stand
No matter the color
You grabbed someone’s hand...
Of those seeking comfort
Or choosing to kneel
To pray for the ashes
Not concrete and steel...
But if we forget
Their deaths were in vain
And new building permits
Were all that we gained...
