That Fright filled sight on the TV screen
Images impossible, harrowing and surreal
That vivid blue sky, the silver the gleaming
People dead, people Jumping,
People running and screaming
Fireballs with colours that didn't seem true
The planes the impact what could anyone do?
To save the people trapped high in the sky
Thousands of souls didn't deserve to die
The day the world changed because of terror
Not for the good and not for the better
The sickening sight of the towers crashing down
Freefalling down smashing the ground
Debris and dust like monsters rising up
Engulfing block by block
Consuming the city refusing to stop
Revealing scenes of a living hell
Just for once Manhattan not looking so swell
You will always remember what you were doing that day
On that very sad blue skied Septembers day
