80's Babies

Oh no, tell me why! Our youth continue to die; With the pull of a trigger or stabbing of a knife; Young people have no regard for the human life. Drug dealers, pushers, gang-bangers & young hookers; Turning on the news, seeing more and more; This is an issue across racial boards. So many past struggles, so many lives lost; And young people don’t realize the cost; From segregation to education; Slavery, concentration camps and race relations. What is it going to take, to make them understand; The worth of the lives of boys, girls, woman and man? Stop the violence and the genocide; Wake up and realize; The value of life and its worth; From the conception to the birth. 80’s babies, what went wrong? This world needs you to be strong; Be powerful, positive forces and leave the B.S. alone; Sit down, pick up a book and learn where you come from. The advantages that you have, that were not here before; You can walk through a brand new door. Show the next generation a positive light; And do away with the senseless fights; The killing, stealing – the hurt and the pain; Give life a chance and start to live again. 80’s babies, you are a special kind; So always keep in mind; The world is yours, with so much good to do; It’s an open playground and what it’s missing is you.
