In the middle of the night, when the stars are out and bright, One began to fall, from a spot very tall, The star seemed to shot, colliding with another, Far off in the distance, leaving behind all others; An empty space in the sky, where the star used t lie, Sits there alone, watching the others go by; Waiting for the chance, t be relieved of death, To be given life again and have the chance of breath; As dat begins to rise and night goes into disguise, The stars fade away, on their own surmise; The night goes astray as the day comes into bay, Night is night, day is day, there is nothing more to say. 8-31-96
