5 Centimeters Per Second

My best friend, my love I lost by train apart in two cities, we cried in anguish. Letters of love never reached her, letters of love never reached him. Train departed so I could see you one last, snowstorm pushed away my arrival. Nightfall stroke the sky, I hoped you were there, late night dulled my vision, surprised you were here. Five centimeters per second is I had left of time, embrace your warmth of the open flame, a kiss too quiet and mellow. I shudder my icy face, watched yours glow. Echo of a moving train, I shall leave I hope to feel that warmth from you someday.
