30 Years Gone
Such a long time to be apart
No contact but you are still in my heart
Memories of the years we spent together
The smiles
The laughs
The times we made love under a warm summer sun
It was paradise
The best times of my life
One misunderstanding between us
No one at fault ended us
Destroyed paradise
The smiles and laughs died in a single day
And the summer love making faded into a distant memory
I still look at your picture in an old yearbook
Torn and tattered age is trying to take that from me too
But you will always be in my thoughts
You will always be in my heart
I will always love you
I just wish I could tell you one time
Then maybe the last 35 years would be gone
And we would be together
