19
When I was six my life fell apart
I told no one
Even though it tore me apart
My reality and nightmares became one
As I shivered in silence in the dark
As my parents lost their spark
Through masked smiles I was ten
And on my way to becoming a man,
Raised strongly by my mother
But always resembled my father
I strived to find the person in me
As I befriended my pen
At eight teen I fell a victim
Fell prey fed to predators called friends
As they had my dignity on their hands
I pursued God who became my beam
For I had grasped life’s fundamentals
And off were the empty smiles
19, awaits for me tomorrow
The last year that I may be a teen.
