18,000 Thousand Children Died Today
18,000 children died today
850 million people went to bed hungry
well we watched television
and wondered why they fight
imagine the sound of their tears
crying into the night
imagine the pain
imagine the death
18,000 children died today
yet we consider ourselves civilised
we consider ourselves better than the past
imagine the pain imagine the death
One mother held the limp
and dying body of her infant
18,000 thousand mother's cried
18,000 thousand mother's hated
18,000 father's learned to feel anger
18,000 father's want to blame
give the man a job
so he can feed his child
You can spend all your money on bullets
you can spend all your money on planes
yet give the man a job
and you take away his pain
18,000 children die everyday
stomachs bloated and swollen
crying out in pain
famine and poverty
