18,000 children died today 850 million people went to bed hungry well we watched television and wondered why they fight imagine the sound of their tears crying into the night imagine the pain imagine the death 18,000 children died today yet we consider ourselves civilised we consider ourselves better than the past imagine the pain imagine the death One mother held the limp and dying body of her infant 18,000 thousand mother's cried 18,000 thousand mother's hated 18,000 father's learned to feel anger 18,000 father's want to blame give the man a job so he can feed his child You can spend all your money on bullets you can spend all your money on planes yet give the man a job and you take away his pain 18,000 children die everyday stomachs bloated and swollen crying out in pain famine and poverty
