There’s that smile-
the one for me.
That little smile-
only I can see.
She lays her face-
upon her hand.
How I wish-
to be her man.
To walk with her-
through this world.
Side by side-
to songs unheard.
Hold her close-
kiss her lips.
Only god could create-
a feeling like this.
Many a night-
we would look at stars.
Laying there-
on the hood of the car.
Speaking of things-
yet to come.
Planning for things-
that should be done.
Then we would fall asleep-
in each others arms.
A perfect love-
underneath those stars.
A picture of heaven-
it would be.
Together eternal-
my wife to be.
But still she sits-
and here I stand.
Longing for the day-
I take her hand.
So here I go-
taking the fist step-
Creating the first memory-
the day we met.
