10 K

10 K The shoes on the floor next to the bed The clock on the stand all quiet and ready The sun starts to break as the morning awakes The weather appears to hold steady The ring of the clock burst through the silence I jump out of the warmth to start of the day I find my myself happy for what’s to come my mind will be thinking I’ve come here to play The gun starts the beginning of it all I take that first step it’s like molasses I push through the pain at the moment I start and suddenly these legs start to make several passes it’s done now, it’s over, the day is successful now that wasn’t so bad, nor was it stressfull

At my advanced age I have started running..I'll never do a 10 K but I admire those young legs passing me. I know the molasses moment. BG

You always feel good afterwards!! Hard to go out there first thing in the morning, but always glad you did! ~ Carrie
