-mother-
One Word #12
Word: Mother
Mother, noun, A woman in relation to her child or children
She’s
always
on her feet,
making sure that
I have what I need.
Whenever I need a
person to speak to, she is
always there, and she responds.
Even if it brought her to her knees,
that woman would bring her children the sun.
Though she’s had enough, she always smiles,
because she knows what true pain feels like.
Even through moments that would bring
any human to their knees,
she still finds a way through.
I’m envious, for
I know I could
never do
what she
does.
Just
for us,
she hides how
she feels, though she
knows it hurts the most.
This human, who has walked
for so long without a break,
is still walking towards the future.
Others would call this a miracle,
but it’s simply the result of hard work.
This woman, who defies the fairy tales,
for she never needed a knight in
shining armour to carry her.
Nothing I do will be
enough to repay
my mother, for she
has already
done so
much.
