-alcohol-

Daily Poetry #68, April 6, 2017 Word: Alcohol “Drink merrily now and feel everything later!” To think one glass of this concoction could do that. To the experienced drunkard, emotions are pushed away, But to the one who swings, opposite is how they react. Laughing at the thought, the world and alcohol, Would be useless if it was the other way around. “Feel everything now and drink merrily later!” Gosh, we are such foolish creatures crossing bounds. To think of it now, we compare many things to alcohol, Are we, as humans, so addicted to this strong tonic? Sex, music, life, emotions, even other humans, If we compare it to so many things, we must live on it. Maybe the world was meant to go backwards, Would it make more sense if it did switch this once? Let’s feel everything now and then drink once it’s over, So this once, we can listen to our conscience. Am I young but experienced in the many ways, Or old but inexperienced at this game I play? Maybe I feel just the right amount of emotions, So let me take a swig, for I’ve felt enough today.
