2st place in the contest

It requires magical thinking to put things in the right way Back then there was never a race against the clock An evaporated history, the core of the truth As bits of humor, from the stately wedding No matter how wild the story was not all myths were debunked The groom Maximus died on the wedding night his young wife was still a virgin He wanted to rise above his own mortality and never left this house The abandoned stately property became haunted Rumors are telling, that he is still looking for his attractive maiden

This poem has a definite ring of haunting distracting silence which is beautiful as much as it is melancholy for these two lovers who are separated by death on their first night of their marriage the groom rising above mortality still looking for his lovely bride. So well penned A.nne-Lise. Hugs and love Jennifer

Lovely, haunting love story, transcending time and dimensions. Maybe someday they will have a second encounter -- I believe true love has permanency. Death but a doorway...to another room...maybe a mansion entrance. Blessings.

Hey Anne-Lise... I love how your poem invites readers to contemplate the intersection of myth and reality, the passage of time, and the enduring power of storytelling to shape our understanding of the world around us. It prompts reflection on the ways in which we construct narratives to make sense of our lives and the mysteries that lie beyond our grasp.

An interesting story and picture. I love stories like this about people who are dead and still seek something. It adds a tinge of sadness to an unfulfilled life. You have a wonderful imagination to compose something like this.
