Anne-Lise, your seasonal Sijo is so beautifully bleak as it should be in its chilliness and stark imagery! Wonderful poem! Happy Friday xxoo

such a descriptive Sijo, Anne-Lise. I liked 'dark petroleum horizon, trembling bodies, chattering teeth..' Those words describe the brutal winter evenings we've had here. Best wishes with the contest. hugs, Sara

It does seem that the cold and ice touches everything and even the sky gets involved. You put it all together. It's a powerful scene. How much colder can it get?

Oh, Anne-Lise! This is visual perfection - "dark petroleum horizon," "chattering teeth, " "crystals have yielded silver!" And like your final image, you spared nothing with your creative freshness and so reflects your intimate knowledge of the many faces of winter! Such a powerful sijo! Best wishes for the contest! Blessings of health and happiness for 2024. Raising a cup of "glogg" to you! We make mulled wine at Christmas with spices. Cardamom is the secret ingredient!

Oh wow this is such a powerful and deeply impactful sijo, dear Anne-Lise.. You've impeccably captured the melancholic essence of winter and how it shakes the soul with icy breaths, freezing many hearts.. I love how descriptively you've woven the imagery here.. Absolutely brilliant. Sending you light & best wishes ~

Brings back memories of the fjords although not the amount of snow in your picture. Good luck in the contest Anne-Lise. Tom
