Yes, there are many entities and people who change their tune for convenience. We have many examples of it these days. There are fewer courageous citizens speaking publicly and willing to sacrifice their careers for the truth. I have a great deal of respect of Liz Chaney, for example, even though I disagree with many of her positions. However, our differences in the grand scheme are small when compared to he love of country.
