Haiku inspired by
a Norwegian song
Text by: Alf Prøysen

"Oh the one who was a dandelion standing in dirt and mud
In Bispegata three;
The very first dandelion that flared up behind a garbage can
In Bispegata three,
So anyone could pick me, and that "someone" would be you.
You pinned me to your blouse and tripped out into the sun and wind,
And I got to join.

I should feel your body behind the sales fabric of muslin
As we walked down the street,
And think I was a diamond against the thin lace border of the blouse,
And everyone should see.

After your long busy day of work then I heard your heartbeat,
In the evening you took weary steps up the stairs to your room,
And I got to join.

Then you went in and turned the dress inside out, washed your hands, neck and cheeks
For the hot fire of the sun.
Your care is like most women's, you brought what I needed most;
An egg glass with water.

Then I get a seat by your bed and watch you fall asleep.
And outside the night is blue, a dandelion can reach happiness,
So above all sense.

prelude to rebirth inspired by a single seed - regeneration

This is extremely beautiful. I know that you may not have many flowers growing in the outside with all the cold of your country, but I'm sure you have greenhouses with lots of flowers.

Dear Anne-Lise, Your haiku, inspired by Alf Prøysen's poignant text, beautifully encapsulates the cycle of life and rebirth. I love how you capture the essence of transformation and renewal through delicate storytelling. The dandelion, once a symbol of fleeting beauty, becomes a harbinger of regeneration, echoing the resilience of nature and the enduring power of hope. Anne-Lise, your words evoke a sense of awe and wonder, inviting us to the cyclical journey of existence. - Blessings, Daniel

Your haiku is quite captivating, Anne-Lise. The dandelion personification effectively captures the value of fleeting moments of connection and care in relationships, as it receives love, attention, and belonging from the other person's activities.
